Hey, if we can't take something away from recent posts along the lines of stepping back and seeing the bigger picture, what the Hell is the point?

Totally agree w.JodyC's assessment (esp. his nod to my fave 10/29/77 show ;-), esp. since so many great songs (the whole of Blues for Allah, terrapin, etc.) simply weren't available pre '72...

But i also really appreciate William Tell's passion for the late 60's Dead sound b/c without his dogged insistence of that era I would never have discovered, for example, my all-time favorite Dark Star of 10/25/69

and many other shows from that era I tend to bypass.

I depend on this forum for exactly those diverse opinions and enthusiasms for different eras, and applaud each and all's efforts to champion them.
